He's selling the world's cheapest Tesla: "Nobody wants it"

On the Swedish sales portal Blocket, what the seller calls the world's cheapest Tesla is currently up for sale. But finding a new owner could be very difficult.

It has quite a few kilometers on it. 317,000 kilometers to be exact. On the other hand, the seller describes the car as the world's cheapest Tesla.

But finding a buyer could be a bit of a problem, the car dealer explains to the Swedish media.

He has had the gray Tesla Model S sitting there since October 28, 2024. But even though the price is 163,000 kroner, which corresponds to 108,000 Danish kroner, there has not been a buyer yet.

– If there is anything I am concerned about, it is the resale value of Teslas. After Elon Musk's statements, it may affect the price. Private individuals do not want to spend money on a car and then get questions from the neighbors, says car expert Ronny Svensson to Carup .

The car dealer says that the price reflects what the battery itself costs for a Model S. He believes that the car's real market value is 300,000 Swedish kronor or 200,000 Danish kronor.

There are several explanations for the fact that the car does not cost more. According to the Swedish dealer, sales of used cars have collapsed.

Therefore, the dealers who are still in the industry have to sell at very low prices to even attract customers. However, he also believes that it is particularly bad with Tesla.

– When it comes to Tesla, there is a lot of politics. A lot of people don't like Elon Musk and what he's doing. But it affects Tesla owners and car dealers who haven't done anything.

He himself is extremely happy with the brand and drives a Tesla around on a daily basis. But he also believes he can feel the effect of the trade union IF Metall having been on strike against Tesla for more than a year now.

The Swedish union believes that Tesla should be forced to enter into a collective agreement with its employees. However, the CEO of the company, Elon Musk, has denied this.

Ever since the union strike began, Tesla has been trying to fight back. Among other things, the car brand has been doing tricks to avoid the part of the strike that means they can't get new license plates. Read more about it here .

However, not all car dealers on the other side of the Øresund feel that things are going downhill for Tesla. One of Sweden's largest car dealers even believes that the business has never sold as many Teslas as it does now.

However, it is inevitable that Tesla has lost more than half of its new car sales in January. However, this does not necessarily have anything to do with the CEO's political commitment.

Several analysts point out that Tesla will start delivering the first units of the new Model Y from its factory on the outskirts of Berlin this March. This may be what customers have been waiting for.
