Chris has been ticketed for using his own parking space.

Chris Jensen lives in Odense, where he has bought his own parking space. Yet he has been charged a parking fee. The company responsible refuses to answer.

Chris Jensen from Odense experienced a frustrating situation the other day when he received a parking ticket for parking his Tesla in his own parking lot. He pays for the space monthly, but one day he forgot to place his parking ticket visibly in the windshield.

This resulted in a charge of 875 kroner from the parking company Apcoa, which manages the parking lot.

This is reported by TV2 Fyn .

According to Apcoa's website, it is a requirement that the parking license is visible during inspection, otherwise you risk a fine. Chris Jensen acknowledges his mistake, but still believes that the system is too rigid.

He has contacted Europark, which is owned by Apcoa, in the hope of having the fee cancelled. He argues that it is a mistake.

And that it should be possible to take into account that he is the rightful user of the parking space. A space for which he otherwise pays 450 DKK every single month.

The media has attempted to get a comment from Apcoa. But the parking company has not wanted to be interviewed. Apcoa will also not answer questions via email.

The situation raises the question of whether parking companies should show more flexibility in cases where there are obvious errors.

For Chris Jensen, it is an expensive lesson to learn that even though you pay for a parking space, it is crucial to follow the rules to the letter.

But he is far from the first motorist to have come into conflict with parking companies, even though parking is actually done according to the rules. Conversely, parking companies should not get off to a bad start either.

Back in May 2023, Boosted reported that the parking company Q-Park was illegally handing out parking fees to drivers. However, the company would only call it 'a mistake'. Read more about it here .
