World-renowned musician Sheryl Crow is the latest in a series of celebrities who feel compelled to protest Elon Musk by selling a Tesla.
Tesla owners around the world have had enough of controversial Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Among them is world-renowned musician Sheryl Crow, who recently sold her Tesla in protest against Elon Musk.
She subsequently posted a video on Instagram in which she waves goodbye to the car while the Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman song "Time To Say Goodbye" plays in the background.
"My parents always said… you are who you hang out with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you're willing to ally yourself with."
"Goodbye Tesla," Sheryl Crow wrote in her Instagram update.
She donated the money from the sale of the car to the American public service radio station National Public Radio (NPR).
Musk's political views have become too much for many, including HK's federal chairwoman Anja C. Jensen.
Last November, she told anyone who would listen that she was also selling her Tesla Model S in protest of Elon Musk. However, that has proven easier said than done. Read more about it here .
Sheryl Crow's decision comes after a period in which Elon Musk has been involved in several controversies.
His political positions, his actions on the social media X (formerly Twitter), and his business decisions have caused many to react.
Several Tesla owners have expressed dissatisfaction with Elon Musk's leadership. Some believe he has become too political, while others are critical of his decisions to cut jobs and change company policies.
In Europe, sales of Tesla cars have fallen after Elon Musk's overtures to the former US president and the German AfD party.
Many consumers do not want to support a company that is led by someone with controversial political views.
There are also signs of dissatisfaction among Tesla owners in the US. After Elon Musk's decision to close the aid organization USAID's office in the US, several have considered boycotting Tesla.
This past weekend, demonstrations were held in front of Tesla dealerships in several places in the country.
Sheryl Crow isn't the only one who has reacted to Elon Musk's controversial actions. Several celebrities and organizations have publicly distanced themselves from him.
However, it is rare that a famous person goes so far as to sell their Tesla in protest.
