Won Porsche and 340,000 DKK – now the car is completely damaged

The joy only lasted a few months for a man from Nevada, USA, who won a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and $50,000. Now the car is a total loss.

What comes easy, goes easy.

A man from Nevada has had to admit that, because the Porsche 911 GT3 RS he won just a few months ago has now turned into a total loss.

The Storey County police, who were called out to the traffic accident involving the Porsche, make this very clear in a post on Facebook.

According to the Storey County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened on March 28 on Geiger Grade Road, a steep and winding stretch of road in Nevada that is notoriously dangerous.

According to law enforcement, the man who won the Porsche was actually going between 130 and 135 km/h when he lost control of the car. He was forced to drive at 70 km/h.

A Porsche for almost 5 million kroner in Denmark

The 911 reportedly went off the road because the owner tried to swerve to avoid an oncoming driver. The car then continued down a slope, coming to a standstill.

According to the police, as quoted by The Drive, the situation is not helped by the fact that the driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The police also say that the man was found in possession of a firearm. Something he had in the car.

The Drive writes that the man has been remanded in custody following the accident. However, it is still unclear what punishment he will face.

The 911 GT3 RS is one of Porsche's most hardcore models. At least if you want to drive it on public roads. The car, which is now completely damaged, is not of the latest generation.

But that doesn't make it any less expensive. On the contrary, the newer GT3 products hold their value well. That is, when they don't get smashed.

Speaking of a new 911 GT3 RS. That kind of thing costs a fortune. Especially in Denmark. Porsche states that the newest 992.2 runs up to 4,910,783 kroner, after tax and VAT are paid.
