Woman gets 37 million in compensation – contracted venereal disease in her boyfriend's car

An insurance company has been ordered to pay out after a woman contracted a venereal disease in a boyfriend's car, which they insured.

The American company Geico makes a living by insuring cars. For some, it's good business. But for Geico, the profit for the year will be $5.2 million less than it otherwise could have been. READ ALSO: BEWARE! Now it costs almost DKK 10,000 to talk on a handheld mobile The money – which corresponds to 37.1 million Danish kroner – the insurance company is ordered to pay in compensation to a woman from Missouri who contracted the HPV virus. The woman got the venereal disease, which can cause cancer, among other things, when she stayed in a car which – at least at the time – was insured by Geico. The car, a 2014 Hyundai Genesis, even belonged to the woman's boyfriend. It is reminiscent of other cases. During the trial it emerged that the couple had had sex in the car. But that the woman's boyfriend had not told her that he was infected with the disease. And the man's insurance company must now pay for that stupidity. That's what DailyMail.co.uk writes. The media has also spoken to a lawyer who specializes in such cases. And from here, it sounds like the compensation sum was lobbed up, so it is completely in line with 'similar cases'. So far, Geico has lost all the times the company has tried to appeal the decision. It is therefore clear that the woman must have a lot of money for her boyfriend's 'forgetfulness'. It is not clear whether the couple is still together. But at least they were in 2017, and until last year when the woman took the insurance company to court.
