Tesla crashes into a fire hydrant and bursts into flames

An accident rarely comes alone. Apparently not in the Tesla Cybertruck that hit a fire hydrant in the city of Harlingen, Texas the other day either .

The irony is almost impossible to get through. Nevertheless, a Tesla in the city of Harlingen in the US state of Texas recently hit the fire hydrant that a group of firefighters could have used.

Because after the collision the car burst into flames. At the scene, the firefighters managed to smother the flames after a while, only for them to flare up again later.

It took a total of one and a half hours of extinguishing work to permanently put down the flames. However, the firefighters took no chances, so they chose to follow the tow truck that took the Tesla away from the accident site.

According to the media, witnesses to the accident say that a strange smell came from where the Tesla collided with the fire hydrant. On the other hand, the emergency manager in Harlingen has not been able to say anything about whether dangerous gases have been released in connection with the accident.

It is also not known how much damage the Tesla has taken from the fire hydrant, or why the accident happened in the first place.

However, the residents of Harlingen do not have to fear that Teslas will start bursting into flames from one day to the next. According to several studies, electric cars burn extremely rarely. The National Emergency Management Agency says the same here at home.

In a larger investigation from 2022, the Danish authorities looked at car fires on our roads since 2018.

The authorities have compared this with fires in petrol and diesel cars in Denmark within the same period. And according to the National Emergency Management Agency, the conclusion is clear. There is nothing to come after.

When electric cars, on the other hand, first catch fire, the flames can be much more difficult to put down. Blue. therefore, Greece has decided to ban electric cars on all the country's ferries. Read more about it here .
