They have just fired their one choir and already have Mick Schumacher sitting in a prototype car. Now Alpine is linked with the young German.
Things are going fast in Formula 1.
And it's not just in the cars themselves. Yesterday it became official that Alpine is kicking Esteban Ocon out of the garage after this season.
And that, someone believes, suddenly opens the door for a sensational comeback for the Schumacher name in Formula 1. Because while one Schumacher has already given up the idea of ever driving Formula 1, another – in the form of Mick Schumacher – still believes in a seat.
Because even though the only 21-year-old Jack Doohan takes up the position as the team's reserve choir, he may not be at the top of boss Bruno Famin's wish list.

Instead, according to PlanetF1, Alpine is looking at Endurance Racing, where they currently have Mick Schumacher drone around in an A424. In other words – a hypercar.
And if you ask the 25-year-old German, a comeback to exactly Formula 1, from which he was fired after the 2022 season, is also the only thing on the agenda.
– My goal and my dream is to drive in Formula 1. That's how it's always been, and that's how it will continue to be.
– Therefore, we need to ensure that the dominoes now fall in my direction, so that I will hopefully end up with a seat.
– What I can do is simply to drive the best I can in the WEC and in Formula 1, where I will continue to do my best for the team (Mercedes and McLaren, ed.) as a reserve, says Mick Schumacher.
Bruno Famin has already praised Mick Schumacher for his efforts in the WEC series. At the same time, the French team boss has said that it 'would be a mistake not to consider the Schumacher name ahead of the 2025 season'.
