Clarkson, Hammond and May return on Amazon Prime

With a new program titled 'The not so great tour', the host trio Clarkson, Hammond and May return to Amazon Prime, which they otherwise left last year.

Their joint production company has been dissolved. But now Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are returning to Amazon Prime anyway.

This is confirmed by the streaming service in a press release according to LadBible .

There's not much to say about the program series, which will be titled The Not So Great Tour, yet. At least the cards are being kept close to the body.

But the BBFC website says the programme was filmed last year and that it will be based on content that resembles a 'motoring comedy documentary'. That sounds familiar.

There's more with Clarkson, May and Hammond on the way

The first program is titled The Glory and The Power, and according to Amazon Prime, it will be released on Friday, April 18. So in a little over a month.

Furthermore, according to the BBFC, the famous host trio are the only ones in front of the camera. So there is a lot to suggest that this is not a relaunch of The Grand Tour.

Boosted has previously announced that something like this is on the way. A new production company won the right to rethink the format last year.

Even the original hosts of the show don't want to dwell too much on the possibility of being replaced at some point. However, Jeremy Clarkson has a clear opinion on how it should be done.

They (Amazon Prime, ed.) have to find someone whose name we don't know. The biggest mistake they can make is bringing someone we already know into the show.

"You have to know your stuff. You have to be able to drive a car, and you have to be a motoring journalist. But they have to be unknown," says the 64-year-old Clarkson.

While Clarkson and May have retired from car TV in general, Hammond isn't done sharing what he knows about things on four wheels.

A few years ago, the unfortunate 'Hamster' bought his two colleagues out of the joint project Drivetribe, which today can only be found on YouTube.

The hugely popular car website that went live in 2016 closed on January 31, 2022. What remains is the YouTube channel of the same name. It is currently followed by more than 2.78 million users.
