Media: In 2032 there will be more charging stations than petrol stations

Gas stations as we know them can be a busy thing. In any case, the financial media Bloomberg writes that public charging stations will overtake them in number as early as 2032.

No one really knows if the electric car is the future. But if it is, the financial media Bloomberg believes that the infrastructure behind it is gaining momentum.

Already in 2032, the media believes, on the basis of a projection of the current development, that the charging parks will have overtaken the filling stations in number. At least in the US.

– Right now we are seeing the demand for lightning chargers explode. We therefore continue to set up bigger and better charging parks, because we need to be able to keep up, says deputy director at charging operator EVgo, Sara Rafalson.

But we don't necessarily have to go that far to see something to the point where charging stations in public spaces overtake petrol stations.

In Sweden, there are already some who believe that the last new gas station in the country has already been built. At home, however, there are also signs of the opposite development.

Thus, Boosted could tell earlier this year that a low-cost company plans to build even more unmanned gas stations throughout the country. Read more about it here.

Hydrogen stations, on the other hand, are few and far between. Here at home, the last of their kind have already closed, and sales of new hydrogen cars have dropped to zero.

In the USA, the sale of hydrogen cars is still going strong, but it is so small that the energy companies are now also starting to shut down hydrogen stations. Conversely, this has caused several owners of the hydrogen car Mirai to sue the manufacturer Toyota. Read more about why here .
