Female driver must serve 60 days in prison after serious accident

In court, a woman tried to convince the judge that because of the snow she could not see the speed signs for bare snow. Now she's going to jail.

A Swedish woman has been given a two-month conditional sentence.

In court, she thought she could picture the judge, that she couldn't see how fast she had to bark. It was, the woman said, because of snow on the boards that she cut too fast.

– There was a lot of snow. It was dizzying, the woman claimed in court.

This is written by Swedish Dagens Nyheter .

However, pictures from the scene revealed the woman's scam number. There was no snow at all on the road where she was caught driving too fast. And there was no snow at all on the speed boards.

It's one thing to sing too loudly. But the judge also thought that the woman's report about the conditions was so serious that it should count towards the total sentence of two months' unconditional imprisonment.

The case dates all the way back to 2021. But because the woman appealed the city court verdict, and the Swedish legal system is obviously somewhat slow, a final verdict has only now been handed down in the case.

However, the woman has not gotten much out of it. Because the high court ended up confirming the district court's decision.

Usually, defendants are not punished for lying in court. But here the judge still found the log rough enough to include it in sentencing.

Otherwise, it is not unusual for motorists to spin a story to get out of even the most obvious violations of the law.

The former gang leader is currently charged with fraud involving 16 very expensive luxury cars. Something he is actually already convicted of as recently as last year. Read more about the new case and the indictment here.
