The most dissatisfied drivers own these cars

It is far from all new – and slightly used cars – that get praise on the road from the owners. This is shown by a new Swedish study.

The fact that a car is new or only lightly used does not mean that it is a good experience behind the wheel.

This is the finding of Swedish Vi Bilägare's annual consumer survey AutoIndex.

A similar investigation exists here at home. And here it is in the best shape for BMW, if you ask the owners. While Fiat can scrape together the absolute fewest points. Read more about it here .

In contrast to the Danish survey, where Opel actually makes a slight progress compared to last year's circular track, the situation is completely different in Sweden.

The 12,766 motorists who were asked place Opel at the bottom. At least when it comes to the category with the latest cars. Namely those who are between 0 and 3 years old.

With 728 points out of a possible 1,000, the Opel Mokka-e fares worst in 150th place. Another Opel – Corsa-e, is just the place above with 730. It is actually also an electric car that performs the best of the worst.

The MG Marvel R gives drivers just 732 points. That's enough for a place as number 148 on the ranking list. The car from the Chinese brand has received so much criticism for its 'four-wheel drive' that the matter has ended up in court. Read more about it here.

But when things are going well, the Swedes actually agree more with Danish drivers. With 908 and 918 points respectively, the BMW iX3 and i4 were number 3 and 2 among the newest cars. The Mercedes EQE performs best among the latest cars with 925 points.

When cars are built between 2017 and 2019, the Renault Zoe performs worst with 736 points. The best car here is the Toyota Corolla with 900 points.

With the even older cars – namely those built between 2013 and 2016 – most honors go to the BMW 1-Series of the time with 915 points. While the Swedes have the least to spare for the Renault Megane, which has to settle for 737 points.
