Celebrity in money trouble – all the cars are gone

Mike Brewer, who made a name for himself on the British car show Wheeler Dealers, has to admit that he's not made of money. Now all the classic cars are gone.

TV personality Mike Brewer, known from the show Wheeler Dealers, has recently made a decision that has caused a stir: He has sold his entire collection of classic cars. In the podcast "Road To Success", Brewer explains why he felt compelled to sell his many vehicles.

Brewer, who has made a career restoring and selling cars at Wheeler Dealers, explains that the decision was primarily based on two reasons.

First, it was about finances. The TV celebrity had invested in a new house, which turned out to be significantly more expensive than expected.

To finance the house purchase, Brewer felt he needed to free up capital, which he did by selling his extensive car collection.

"My assets were tied up in the cars, and I had quite a bit at the time," Brewer says in the podcast.

The second reason for the sale was that Brewer saw the classic cars only decreasing in value. On the other hand, this fact made it easier for him to part with the collection. After the auction, where the cars were sold, he did get enough money to cover the purchase of the house.

The podcast's host, Ben Fowler, subsequently asked Brewer about his emotional attachment to the cars. However, the TV host denied having any special affection for the vehicles.

"Cars are just objects, and they're for sale," Brewer states.

The TV presenter isn't the only one to make headlines by appearing on Ben Fowler's podcast. So has former Top Gear host Richard Hammond's daughter, "Izzy" Hammond.

In the podcast she appears on, there is no room for ambiguity in her relationship with her famous father. He hasn't always been very thoughtful, she believes.

"He's an idiot. He has that thing that race car drivers have where they just don't own fear. Everyone has that line where they think 'okay, I know where the line is,'" she says.
