According to Porsche, 80 percent of all cars will run on electricity by 2030

Unlike several of the competitors, who are just now finding the reverse gear, Porsche is pushing to get the electrification through the model program.

80 percent of all new Porsches will run on electricity by 2030.

At least if you ask Porsche. And six out of seven models from the brand must already be electrified in one form or another by 2027.

This is written by Automobilwoche .

One example has already hit the European Porsche customers. The brand from Zuffenhausen simply refuses to sell the new Macan as anything other than an electric car.

The brand believes that new EU rules have forced them to change plans at the last minute. Conversely, both the Americans and the British can benefit from the petrol version, which Porsche will not release. At least not yet. Read more about it here .

Porsche's announcement stands in stark contrast to the tone of the Japanese car industry. As recently as the beginning of this week, several brands announced that 'it was well known that interest in electric cars would decline'.

At the same time, however, it is not something that makes brands such as Subaru, Nissan, Honda and Mazda shake their bodies. Not even when it comes to the brands' upcoming electric cars.

– It is the customer who determines the speed of electrification. It is not a market that grows linearly. Not in a straight line.

– It will go up and down. But in the long run, the market will grow, says Stephan Ma, Nissan's financial director.
