Sad trend is spreading among motorists despite double punishment

10 years ago it was made twice as punishable to drive too fast past roadworks in Denmark. Nevertheless, the number of accidents is increasing.

Women with nail polish behind the wheel and men shaving.

It's just some of the things road workers see around the country when motorists drive past them. Some even have far too much speed.

Even though the penalty for simply speeding past a roadworks was doubled 10 years ago.

The latest figures from the Roads Directorate show that in 2022, 347 accidents were registered in connection with road work. And in fact, there has only been more of that kind.

Just 5 years ago, 'only' 263 accidents were registered in connection with road work. Last year, a campaign 'Look after us who works on the road' was supposed to try to reverse the trend among motorists.

It is not only the road workers who waste their lives in traffic. Roadside assistance also does that. Here at Boosted, we have highlighted a terrifying example of motorists' lack of attention. Read more about it here .

Yet again and again stories emerge of motorists literally blowing past roadworks at more than double the speed limit. And even if the police are present.

One of the road workers who has had the experience of getting off the wrong track in traffic is Dennis Kirkegaard. Creepily enough, he has no doubts as to why he fell short. The driver did it completely proven. The road worker tells this in an interview with DR.
