New figures from England show that the demand for electric cars fell significantly in the last month of 2023. On the other hand, things went forward for diesel cars.
It is not only here at home that sales of electric cars are falling. In January, however, this was due to the fact that an agreement which keeps the charges at bay had not yet entered into force.
But in England, motorists already stepped on the brakes for the car type the month before, i.e. in December 2022.
That's what Autocar writes.
And this has particularly benefited the diesel cars, which are otherwise so politically incorrect. In December, British sales of electric cars fell by 34 percent.

Meanwhile, sales of diesel cars rose by 12 percent. Otherwise, it has only gone back for diesel cars in England since 2016.

The diesel car's bad reputation is also mistaken. Already in 2019, the German answer to FDM, ADAC, stated that diesel cars have become the 'steueren'.
In any case, the brand new diesel cars pollute just as little as their petrol-guzzling counterparts. The diesel car has also gotten rid of the criticized and rightly harmful NOx particles.
Even then – i.e. in 2019 – a diesel-powered Mercedes C-Class emitted no NOx particles at all. On the other hand, electric cars should not feel like they are saved either. Read more about it here .
