New "RS2" is Audi's most potent street car ever

The RS e-tron GT Performance is the most powerful street car from Audi ever. However, the 925 horsepower that graces the RS2 from 1994 was launched in silence.

It is not much that Audi does with the new RS e-tron GT Performance. And that's a shame – because the car is Audi's most powerful street car ever.

The four-door German has a whopping 925 horsepower and a battery of 105 kWh gross. It almost sounds like some of the work Ken Block didn't get to do for Audi due to the star's untimely death.

In addition to the extreme effect, Audi has tightened up the car's undercarriage. In fact, it must be completely newly developed especially for GT Performance. An active air suspension is still optional.

– Our goal was to significantly increase driving comfort and driving dynamics, says Carsten Jablonowski, chief engineer at the Audi Driving Characteristics Development Team, in a press release .

This means that the Audi now has even more settings that can be adjusted behind the wheel. The RS1 and RS2 allow you to adjust everything from the stiffness of the chassis to the ground clearance and the sound.

As standard, the Audi RS e-tron GT performance is delivered on 20" wheels, while 21" is optional.

– As a designer statement, every detail of the RS e-tron GT performance has been coordinated to perfection, from the carbon fiber roof to the seat belts, from the exterior to the interior, says a very poetic Christopher Kröner, who is responsible for colors and details in this project .

As a tribute to the real RS2 from 1994, which Audi got Porsche's help to both develop and build, the car has been given white 'dials'. That is, white, digital instrumentation. But Audi has chosen not to share a single picture of it in the international press material.

The new version e-tron GT will be introduced in Denmark during the autumn. Prices and equipment on the Danish market have not yet been determined, the importer states.
