Xiaomi's Nürburgring time is a hoax, says Misha Charoudin

The well-known YouTuber Misha Charoudin has no doubt that Chinese Xiaomi has cheated its way to the lap record around the Nürburgring.

Car brands are not telling the truth, according to YouTube personality and racing choir Misha Charoudin, who accuses Xiaomi of misleading the public when it comes to how fast the brand's car SU7 Ultra really is.

Charoudin believes that the Chinese automaker is not giving a fair picture of the performance. "Please, we must compare apples to apples and not apples to pears," he says.

Xiaomi claims to have broken Porsche's record for four-door electric cars at the famous German race track. It must have happened in a prototype version of the SU7 Ultra.

The car with the 1,548 horsepower allegedly completed a lap around the track, which is also called the 'Nordslojfen', in a time of 6:46.874 minutes. A time that is significantly faster than Porsche's time of 7:07 minutes. But according to Charoudin, the comparison is misleading at best.

– I would like to express my frustration and the anger of several other car manufacturers at calling this a record, he says.

Charoudin criticizes Xiaomi for using a car that is not representative of the production model. According to him, the SU7 prototype was significantly modified and looked more like a racing car than a street car.

– The four dores mean absolutely nothing.

– The car is essentially a racing car prototype with four slicks tyres. It has nothing to do with a street car, he says.

On the Nürburgring's official website, the Xiaomi SU7 is classified as a prototype, placing it in fourth place with a slower time than the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo racing car.

– We could just as easily have said that the SU7 is the world's fastest yellow car, says Charoudin.

Despite his criticism, Charoudin acknowledges driver David Pittard's ability behind the wheel and the car's potential.

– It is still a very impressive performance, he says.

For its part, Xiaomi states in a press release that the time is good enough. The Chinese call it 'a miracle' that the car is so fast. So allegedly.
