Two Bugatti Chirons smashed in the world's most expensive car accident

Two Bugatti Chirons were smashed in what is probably the world's most expensive car accident during a choir ride in Markko. The cars each cost at least DKK 32 million.

During an exclusive choir tour in Morocco organized by Bugatti, two Bugatti Chiron models collided with each other in a failed attempt to overtake. It is probably the world's most expensive car accident.

The crash, involving a white Chiron Pur Sport and a tan Chiron Super Sport, was caught on a dash cam by a slower-moving truck.

The footage shows how the two cars try to overtake the truck at the same time, but also how both drivers lose control and crash into each other. In the attempt to avoid the accident, the white Chiron also hits a truck further ahead, which overturns.

The Bugattis, which have a total value of approximately DKK 65 million, were both heavily damaged in the accident.

The event, Bugatti Grand Tour Morocco, brought together around 15 Bugatti owners who toured the country and participated in various activities. Among the participants was Bugatti managing director Mate Rimac. But he has not yet commented on the accident.

Despite the accident, Bugatti themselves describe the event as "unforgettable" on their Instagram profile. In addition to the two Chiron models involved, other models also took part in the tour, including the Veyron Vitesse, Chiron Pur Sport, Chiron Super Sport and Chiron Super Sport 300+.

It is not the first time that a hugely expensive Bugatti has had an unfortunate accident on camera. 14 years ago, one of the Chrion's 400 predecessors – the Veyron – crashed directly into a sow in the USA. That car was later raised from the water and rebuilt.

Years later, a just 24-year-old German smashed an almost irreplaceable Ferrari, which he really only had to drive a few kilometers to a car show. According to the police, the accident was due to one of two things; either a technical defect, or the fact that the young man fell far short of his ability.

Fortunately, nothing serious happened to the 24-year-old himself, although he was briefly in hospital for a check-up. Read more about the accident here .
