The special choir card rule disappeared in Denmark on 1 July

Since 1 July 2024, it has been possible to take a choir card in a car with automatic transmission without special reservations. However, it requires 7 core hours in a car with manual transmission.

Manual gear is what you usually learn in the Danish choir schools. But care is dead, and since July 1, automatic transmission has been just as good.

The caveat which prevents drivers who choose automatic transmission for the driving test from driving other cars has disappeared.

And yet. In order for the so-called code 78 to disappear completely from the choir card, one must be able to complete 7 choir hours with manual gear.

However, the fact that reservations towards drivers who choose automatic transmission largely disappear is not the only change in the field of road maps. Austerity is also being introduced.

For example, brand new drivers must wait at least seven days to sit for a new driving test if they fail the first attempt. The explanation is that it should reduce the wastage of samples.

In addition, a so-called waiting period is introduced in the event of cheating. If you cheat on either the practical or theory test, any driver will automatically be banned from taking another test for at least six months.

Cheating in choral and theory tests may have been a problem, because the Danish Transport Agency wrote for the introduction of the new rules that: "The sanctions for cheating are being tightened, as the current measures are not sufficient".

Finally, interpretation is prohibited in connection with choir rehearsals from 1 January 2025. On the other hand, the authorities open the possibility that the choir rehearsal can take place in a language other than Danish. Namely English, Faroese and Greenlandic.
