Speeding in a 30-zone – gets a speeding ticket of DKK 126,000

A young motorcyclist did not think he could be identified, but now the trap snaps with a speeding ticket of DKK 126,000.

Between mid-June and the end of July 2024, a young motorcyclist from Rüsselsheim in Germany speeded 15 times. It now costs him a combined fine of 17,000 euros, corresponding to 126,000 Danish kroner.

Even though he thought the police couldn't catch him. The motorcyclist was, among other things, flashed at 131, 126 and 123 km/h in a 50 zone. And with 61 km/h a 30 zone.

That's what Auto Motor und Sport writes.

However, the motorcyclist thought he was on safe ground, as the German speed cameras only photograph from the front, where of course there are no number plates on motorcycles.

However, law enforcement began looking for both the motorcycle and the owner. And the trap was sprung when a local officer caught sight of both parts.

After a double check of the images from the speed cameras and the motorcycle that the officer had stopped, the young owner was arrested on the spot. His reaction was also somewhat spontaneous: "I never expected that it would have consequences", it seemed.

Now the sentence has been reduced, and the prosecution has largely been successful all the way. 11 out of the 15 offenses for which the motorcyclist was charged were found proven in court.

It costs 22 so-called points in the police traffic register, a driving ban for 31 months and then a fine of a total of 17,000 euros or 121,000 Danish kroner.

The mayor of Rüsselsheim was also not slow to condemn this kind of procession. Immediately after the verdict, the mayor made this comment to the media:

– This recklessness is dangerous to the public and cannot be tolerated. That kind of carousel endangers human life.

At home, East Jutland's Police currently have a similar case pending, where a 29-year-old man without a driving license has been charged with 38 cases of reckless driving. Read more about it here .
