The new Fiat Grande Panda can be so scrapped that it comes without a radio, on steel wheels and with manual side windows.
If you don't want it, you can be free. Free as in no radio, manual side windows and 16" steel wheels. This is how the new Fiat Granda Panda Hybrid can be delivered.
The idea, we think, is that customers who opt out of the radio should use their smartphone as the car's infotainment system.
In the domestic market in Italy, the car is available from 18,900 euros. That's the equivalent of 141,000 kroner. And that's not a lot of car for the money.
On the other hand, the price includes 22 percent VAT. So the steel price is actually even less when it comes down to it.
But what do you get? Not much. Because even an infotainment screen has to be paid for. A radio, in other words. Fiat wants one like that for 1,500 euros, equivalent to almost 12,000 kroner. But then you also get LED headlights, cruise control, electric rear window and aluminum wheels.
The car brand states this on its website .
The standard color of the most scratched model, the Panda Pop, is a mess. Even the more common white, which is also not a metallic paint, Fiat wants 750 euros for it. Conversely, the metallic colors that the Panda is available in actually cost no more than that.
Technically, the base model is even more expensive in Denmark because VAT is 25 percent. The question is whether Fiat importer Wismo Group will even bring the model to the country in the most basic version.
Fiat is neither the first nor the only one willing to sell you a car with little more than a few pedals and a steering wheel. Audi actually does the same thing back home in Germany. Read more about it here .
