Speeds above 80 km/h are prohibited on the Great Belt next week

Next week – week 16 – maintenance will be carried out on the Storebæltsbroen in the evening and night hours. This means two-way traffic and 80 km/h in the wee hours.

The 26-year-old Storebæltsbro is not maintenance-free. The billion-dollar bridge, which motorists pay in expensive judgments for drones over, needs to be worked on from time to time.

And now it's time again. This is stated by Sund & Bælt, which is responsible for the company's operation, in a press release .

The work takes place at night to create a traffic-free and safe area, which at the same time allows the work to be carried out faster and more efficiently than during the day.

This means that traffic will be bi-directional on one side of the bridge while work is being done on the opposite side.

Traffic restrictions are imposed during the night hours
In week 16, starting on Monday evening 15 April, traffic will be bi-directional in the evening and night hours between 20.00 and 05.00. This applies on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

The bridge is closed in two rounds of 45 minutes, respectively in the evening at 20 and again in the morning at 05 in connection with traffic rerouting.

There will be waiting time during the rerouting of the traffic. While traffic is diverted, the speed limit is 80 km/h and overtaking is not permitted.

Motorists and other road users who cross the bridge connection in connection with the road works can keep themselves informed on the Storebæltsbroen website.
