Rally choirs must pay DKK 74,000 to say "fuck"

It's not just Formula 1 drivers who have been muzzled. In the world of rallying, Hyundai's Adrien Fourmaux is now being fined 74,000 kroner for saying fuck.

Adrien Fourmaux said 'we fucked up!' But because it happened on live TV, Hyundai's French rally team must now pay 10,000 euros, equivalent to 74,000 kroner, in fines.

The money is to be given to the international motorsports federation FIA.

And if Adrien Fourmaux does something similar while he is actively driving during an FIA-regulated race, he will have to pay double.

This is reported by Motorsport.com .

The new rules are part of the FIA's stricter policy on what the organization calls 'inappropriate language' in public.

The same rules have been imposed on the Formula 1 choirs. The rules will apply to them as soon as they start the upcoming season. In advance, the choirs are not allowed to comment on either FIA policy, politics in general or religious issues.

In Formula 1, however, the punishment is somewhat stricter. A swear word over the team radio can trigger a fine of as much as 1,000,000 kroner. And if it happens again, the FIA can throw the team out one race at a time.

The Motorsport Federation, which governs all things Formula 1, stresses the importance of professionalism as motorsport reaches a global audience of different ages and regions. Therefore, no one should be swayed by a single statement from a racing coach.

Fourmaux, who finished 40th in the rally after getting stuck in a snowdrift earlier in the weekend, has since chosen to apologize for his 'use of language'.
