Mercedes mocks Audi in front of 171 million – just 4 rings

In a new advertisement for the Mercedes importer in Bangladesh, Audi is told that the competitor from Germany 'is just 4 rings'.

In a recent advertising campaign, Mercedes has chosen to make a sarcastic remark against its competitors from Ingolstadt – namely Audi.

The campaign, currently circulating on social media , shows a Mercedes G580 leaving four distinct tire tracks in a parking lot in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The wheel tracks are designed in a way that is reminiscent of Audi's distinctive four-ring logo. Mercedes' intention is clear: to suggest that Audi is nothing more than four rings.

Audi Bangladesh promptly responded to Mercedes' provocation with a humorous response on Facebook.

The importer thanked Mercedes for "leaving their logo in Gulshan," a district of Dhaka, and shared a photo of the wheel tracks.

Mercedes: Audi is just four rings

The post from Audi's Asian marketing team quickly went viral. It's not the first time that two rival car brands have spent money to tease each other. Read more about it here .

Mercedes chose not to let Audi's response go unchallenged. They responded shortly afterwards with a remark that they were happy to have contributed to the great attention surrounding Audi's post.

The Stuttgart-based brand also challenged Audi to include two Mercedes cars in their next post to further increase engagement. The war of words has generated significant attention on social media.

Audi subsequently tried to involve BMW in the ongoing competition. However, the Munich brand has not wanted to get involved in the 'game'.

Facts: What do Audi's four rings actually mean?

Over the years, the logo has undergone minor design changes, but the four rings have remained a constant and recognizable element of Audi's identity.

Audi's logo consists of four intertwined rings, symbolizing the merger of four independent German car manufacturers in 1932: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer.

The merger of these four companies resulted in the formation of Auto Union AG.

The four rings therefore represent the unity and cooperation between the four founding companies.

Each ring in the logo represents one of the four brands that made up Auto Union AG. So each ring represents an individual car company.
