The new car brand Aehra, which i.a. wants to build electric sedan models, has asked the Italian state to finance development and production costs for 9 billion Danish kroner.

To be precise, Aehra wants 1.2 billion euros from Italy. This corresponds to 9 billion Danish kroner. In fact, Aehra wants the money so badly that they have officially asked the government for it.
Some of the money must be used to build sedan and SUV models by mid-2026 at the latest. Production, against delivery of the full amount, must take place in Italy.

Filippo Perini has been asked to design the two cars that Aehra currently has in the works. He has previously designed for Alfa Romeo and Lamborghini.
Both one and the other new car must be able to cover at least 800 kilometers, have the same amount of horsepower and a top speed electronically limited to 260 km/h.
In its prospectus for the future, Aehra writes that it will create 540 jobs at a new factory in the city of Mosciano and a further 110 jobs at the head office in Milan.
But that's actually not all from Italy's part of the car industry this time. The Italian government has demanded that the Chinese DongFeng group, which is one hundred percent owned by the communist regime in China, use Italian software in their cars if they build cars in Italy and thus avoid the EU's punitive tariffs on electric cars from China.
The government in Rome has also demanded that the Chinese car group must not send any data back home to China. And it can be difficult.

Back at Aehra, you don't dare go for a larger production than 50,000 cars per year. 25,000 each of the two current models.
The request for financial support comes at a time when, from the political side, intensive work is being done to increase the country's car production from 750,000 cars today to over 1.3 million cars in 2032.
