New AMG is the fastest Mercedes ever

Even the AMG One, which Mercedes calls a Formula 1 car with number plates, can pack a punch here. The new AMG GT with hybrid V8s is faster.

If it has to be Mercedes, and if it has to be fast, it doesn't get wilder than the new AMG GT 63 SE Performance. At least not if there are to be number plates on it.

With hybrid assistance for the 4-liter V8 engine with twin turbos, the new AMG drones from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds.

That is 0.1 seconds faster than the AMG One, which Mercedes otherwise calls 'a Formula 1 car with number plates'.

The fact that the new AMG GT is so crazy is largely due to the engine, which delivers a staggering 815 horsepower and a torque of 1,080 Nm. The engine itself produces 615 horsepower.

This is what Mercedes writes in a press release .

It all goes to a four-wheel drive. In fact, the AMG GT 63 SE Performance can only be had with four-wheel drive. Then it's in place. And should you be saved – or just tempted to do so – there is up to 13 kilometers of driving exclusively on electricity in the small hybrid package.

The Danish Mercedes importer does not say whether the crazy Mercedes gets Danish asphalt under the wheels, or if so at what price.

But we already know that the car is far from a gift. Mercedes is keeping the exact price to itself for a little while longer. It will only be revealed 'within the coming months'.
