Koreskole has lost a big problem in new Teslas

A choir school in Norway believes it has solved a problem that one of Tesla's many minimalist design solutions gives the owners. Namely the turn signal.

It may cost Tesla a few kroner per car to install a physical arm for the turn signal. But it will be a no.

And since 2022, Tesla owners have just had to live without a series of physical switches, buttons and switches. Among other things for the turn signal. However, it remains a challenge for some motorists.

Now a Norwegian choral school, on the other hand, believes it has solved the problem. You have simply installed buttons on the back of the steering wheel specifically for the turn signals. Quite simply because the owners prefer it.

– We started testing the buttons already last October on Model 3 year 2021. To find the right setting, location, etc. In the beginning, too much time passed from pressing the button until the turn signals started flashing.

– All our school cars, both Model 3 and Model Y, have had physical buttons for the turn signals since January 2024.

– We have tested the buttons on more than 100 trips with more than 100 students. We wanted to test the buttons on the Tesla with turn signal levers before deciding whether to buy a new Model 3. The first run with buttons was cut short in December 2023.

But it was in a Tesla that had both buttons and stalk switches, says Jon Kjetil Kallekodt, who is the day-to-day manager at Elite Trafikskole in the city of Haugesund.

It is not always that neither the choir school student – or for that matter the choir teacher – can figure out how to behave in traffic. Here at home, for example, a rowdy choir teacher was arrested in the middle of a choir lesson last year. Read more about that case here .
