Here, the police only order Teslas – petrol cars are thrown away

The officers in South Pasadena, California, are part of the world's first police force to completely replace the fleet of cars with electric cars. Here you only sing Tesla.

The officers in South Pasadena, California, are calling for nothing but electric cars. In fact, they do nothing but Tesla.

At present, the circle has accepted ten Teslas. And as more are added, the current petrol cars are replaced until there are no more of them left.

– When police officers stop traffic or take a call from the exchange, the police cars are idling more than other cars, says Michael Cacciotti, who is an official at the city hall in South Pasadena, according to the AP news agency.

The decision that the police force must only use electric cars is mainly taken to counter the environmental problems plaguing the area.

– It is an important step, especially in Los Angeles, which has the worst air in the country. We also hope that more people in our neighboring towns will make the same decision, says Michael Cacciotti.

When the choice has fallen on Tesla, it is not because, say the police, it is an American car manufacturer. It is instead about the safety of the officers, it says.

– At the top of the list was the safety of our police officers. But after a little research, we found that Tesla had the most advanced technology.

– One of our officers was recently involved in a car chase where visibility was really poor due to the weather.

– Afterwards he said that he would not have continued the pursuit if it was not because he was sitting in a Tesla, says Tony Abdalla, from the South Pasadena Police Station in a video that the police district has posted on Facebook.
