Cars are becoming an increasingly reviled means of transport. The apartment takes advantage of several parking companies and municipalities to raise their fees and charges dramatically.
The owner of a newer electric MG got quite a surprise when the rules at a private car park in the Norwegian city of Trondheim ended up costing him 9,200 kroner.
Even though the parking was within the lines, when the car was parked, the municipality had decided to prohibit parking on the road because you 'had to do a spring clean'.
It therefore meant nothing that the parking took place in a private area. The municipality had decided that you were not allowed to park on the road at all during the time that the MG was there.

That's what Motor.no writes, referring to the court's reasoning for losing the case: "The car prevented the cleaning of the road", the district court's judgment says.
It initially cost a fee of NOK 900. The amount subsequently grew to 9,220 Norwegian kroner (5,800 Danish kroner, ed.), because the car was towed away. At the same time, the municipality paid several thousand kroner to deal with the man's complaint.
In addition, the case took all the way to the district court. And here the car owner also lost the case. Therefore, the legal costs must be added.
