Concealed face for photo van – gets the stall anyway

A motorist on Brovej in Egernsund in Sonderborg municipality thought he had counted it out when it passed the police photo van too fast. Now he gets the ticket anyway.

On Sunday afternoon last week, the motorist who came cruising down Brovej in Egernsund in Sonderborg municipality in a newer Mercedes SUV probably thought he had won over the photo van on the same stretch.

But he may think again. This is announced by the Southern and Sonderjylland Police on the social media " X ".

Because the police circle sends him the fine anyway. In addition, the police circle states that it is dangerous to raise the arm in front of the sight to hide in the way that the motorist does. Or at least trying to.

Now, instead of getting away, he can look forward to a fine of DKK 1,800. Incidentally, it is far from the first time that people have tried to hide from the flash of the photo van.

However, there are more creative solutions than what the man on Brovej could come up with on the fly. In October 2023, for example, a dog was flashed for going 10 km/h too fast. Yes, a dog. Read more about it here .

Elsewhere, artificial intelligence is being used to target drivers with too heavy right feet. It is probably only an attempt, but in England the police have set up speed cameras with artificial intelligence.

The 'smart' cameras look directly into the cars to check whether the person behind the wheel is complying with the law. So far, this has meant that over 100 motorists a day have been flashed.
