Celebrity fears Kevin Magnussen has no chance in Formula 1

Kevin Magnussen, facing another Formula 1 farewell, may have damaged his own reputation at the start of the season, says former team owner.

Kevin Magnussen, who faces another farewell to Formula 1, may be without a chance in Formula 1 after this season, when it is over between the Dane and the American Haas.

At least that's what former team owner and current Formula 1 celebrity Eddie Jordan thinks. Jordan, who founded Jordan GP in 1991 and was briefly involved in Formula 1 until 2005, fears that K-Mag's reputation has been damaged over the course of the 2024 season.

Jordan tells this in his own podcast Formula For Success .

– Kevin seems to have glimpses of something brilliant. I think there is still room for him (in the Formula 1 field, ed.).

– I do not know why. But I would put guys like Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen very squarely against each other. It's about their choral style, their character, their humanity.

– I think Kevin has damaged his reputation with some of the wild things he did early in the season. And I'm not sure how the other team managers look at that sort of thing, says Jordan.

The former team owner also finds it difficult to see Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg continuing as teammates with the future Audi team. But it's more about Audi's means than Kevin Magnussen's abilities.

– I think that the financial gurus at Audi look a lot at what it all costs. My bet is that it will be clearly wiser for Audi to hire another (cheaper, ed.) choir.

On the other hand, it is rumored that Sauber, which will become Audi in 2026, has had to hold on to Guanyu Zhou this year due to a gigantic calculation error on Audi's part. Read more about it here .

Back in the Magnussen team, there is probably no one – apart from the Dane himself – who probably knows anything about what will happen to him in 2025. In reality, there is also still the possibility of a seat in Formula 1. All 20 seats are not occupied yet.
