Activists blocked the highway – get 5 years in prison

Five English climate activists have been given between 4 and 5 years in prison because they were behind the planning of a major motorway blockade in London.

This has been seen at home and in Germany, where the police drag climate activists away from the roads. In England they go harder with prison.

Five climate activists have just received between 4 and 5 years in prison because they planned a major blockade of a motorway in London.

The Guardian writes that.

All the activists are convicted for their role in a blockade of the M25 motorway in London over a period of four days in November 2022. The British media writes that the five activists are now convicted of 'conspiracy to cause public disturbance'.

According to the newspaper, the sentences the activists have now received are the harshest in the country's history. The authorities, on the other hand, believe that the man, who was given a five-year sentence, has committed 'the greatest disturbance in modern British history'.

Here at home, the climate activists are given somewhat more undisturbed permission to disrupt public order. And that gets on drivers' nerves. '

Boosted has several times been able to tell about how frustrated motorists who have taken care of the activists on their own when they have blocked e.g. the busy morning traffic. Read more about it here .
