The Chinese cars are worse than their reputation, new tests show

The Chinese cars are worse than their reputation already makes them out to be. This is the opinion of the German media, which has had a large number of the car's models for testing.

The Chinese cars disappoint.

At least in the eyes of the German Auto Motor und Sport. In a series of comparison tests, the Chinese brands fail one after the other, the Germans believe.

According to the media , the Chinese offers for cars do not yet live up to the standards of the established brands. Huge loss of value on the cars only makes the situation worse.

The Germans mention brands such as Nio, BYD, Great Wall Motors and the former British brand MG. And it's not good for anything.

The cars from these brands are neither particularly efficient, have an exceptionally good ability to charge the battery, good driving characteristics or particularly good functions in other respects.

Still, Auto Motor und Sport does not believe that these are bad cars. Because none of them have broken down yet. Yes, a Smart has.

But after being reviewed by technicians, Smart reported back that there was a fault with the gas pedal, which could well be resolved. And then short the car again.

However, it is not the same as the Germans having nothing but praise for the Chinese cars. Among other things, the Nio ET7, which the Chinese themselves would like to compare with the Porsche Taycan, is criticized for poor comfort due to a poor undercarriage.

And in terms of dynamics, the Germans do not think that the Nio can be compared to the Porsche at all. But also the cheaper cars generally take a beating.

Here, it is especially the assistant systems and the lack of possibility to plan charging stops in the navigation that seriously drags it down. The generally cheaper Chinese cars cannot compensate for an inferior experience with the price either. The cars are plummeting in price on the used market.

Speaking of used electric cars, it really is a buyer's market at the moment. A new analysis shows that used electric cars have never actually been worth less than they are right now. Read more about it here .
