Volvo sells the factory's last ever diesel cars

There are still a few factory-new examples of Volvo's diesel cars left without owners. They must be sold now.

At Chinese Volvo, they are busy cursing the internal combustion engine far away. Although the abolition is probably not going as fast as the bosses would like. Read more about it here .

And now some of Volvo's very last diesel cars will find their first owners. However, it will not be possible to get hold of the irrevocably last car.

It – an XC90 – went straight off the factory floor and into a museum when it left the assembly line back in March.

Around Sweden, according to the sales portal Blocket, there are still 16 brand new Volvo diesel cars that have not yet found their first owners. These are V60 and V90 models. The newest of them were built just around New Year's and therefore have half a year behind them.

Prices start at SEK 429,000. This corresponds to 281,000 Danish kroner. The dealer is already ready to give a discount of DKK 30,000 on a top-equipped V90 with only a few kilometers on the odometer. So Swedish.

With Volvo saying goodbye to the diesel engine, a piece of automotive history has been lost forever. However, the writing has long been on the wall.

Here at home, the Chinese brand planned to abolish all pure diesel and petrol cars in September 2022. And that with immediate effect. The order books were simply closed, and only those customers who had already ordered the cars would have them delivered.

The Chinese brand, which this week has been hit by punitive tariffs from the EU, says that from 2030 it will only produce electric cars.
