This Koenigsegg was designed by an intern

Nothing good comes of giving an intern full responsibility. But Alexandre Bernini's take on a Koenigsegg is perhaps the world's most beautiful exception.

An intern at the Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg has designed a concept car that has caused quite a stir in the automotive world.

Alexandre Bernini, as the intern is called, has presented his design, which goes by the name Koenigsegg Aethera. The car traces its roots to previous Koenigsegg models such as the CC850 and Gemera, but also differs in certain, unique features.

Bernini has published the design on the platform Behance, where it has caused many to comment on the car's distinctive appearance.

Among other things, the headlights have caused many to draw parallels to other car brands, and it turns out that Bernini has previously worked as a designer at BYD and Toyota.

While many describe the car as a combination of elements from Koenigsegg, Porsche and McLaren, there is no official announcement from Koenigsegg as to whether the design will go into production. A user on Instagram writes:

– Sad, it looks so beautiful!

The Aethera features several of the classic design details that Koenigsegg is known for. The double bubble roof and a distinctive front splitter that signals high performance are among the car's prominent elements.

In addition, the car appears to be equipped with a variant of Koenigsegg's characteristic Dihedral Synchro-Helix wheels. This door mechanism enables the doors to turn 90 degrees and open both upwards and outwards, underscoring the brand's innovative approach to automotive technology.

Although the design is primarily a visual representation, several speculate what the car could perform if it were realized.

With Koenigsegg's track record, it would likely be equipped with an engine producing over 2000 horsepower if it ever went into production. So far, however, Bernini has focused on the car's visual aspects and not details about its technical potential.

The comparisons to both McLaren and Porsche are frequent among those who have seen the design. Another comment reads:

– It looks like a Koenigsegg that has had a child with a Porsche.

Whether the Koenigsegg Aethera will ever become more than a concept is still uncertain. But it is not unreasonable that a concept is more or less direct from the design studio to production. The Jaguar C-X16 concept car, for example, is eerily reminiscent of the final result, the F-Type. Google it!
