The car brand Fisker gets an approved shutdown plan

The car brand Fisker Inc. has had a plan approved, which means that the company will probably shut down after the sale of the remaining assets.

Henrik Fisker's home is worth more than his ailing car brand. But now at least a plan has been made.

Specifically, in connection with a procedure at the bankruptcy court in the state of Delaware, an agreement has been made with the creditors, which gives Fisker Inc. opportunity to sell the last of its assets.

The LA Times writes that.

The plan means that Fisker Inc. can continue operations while selling out of the company, and when there is nothing left for creditors, Fisker Inc. probably be dissolved.

Before the plan was approved, especially the American association of Fisker owners, the Fisker Owners Association (FOA), and the American authorities pushed to get an agreement through.

Something that is not yet in place, however, is what will happen to Fisker's intellectual property rights, such as software. However, FOA would like to see these end up 'in the right hands', so that it is also possible in the future for private Fisker owners to get updates.

But here nothing is settled yet. And the leasing company, which a few weeks ago bought more than 3,000 of Fisker's stock cars, has committed itself to nothing more than keeping FOA informed of developments.

– FOA is convinced that Fisker owes it to them to ensure that their cars are both safe and reliable, and the best way to ensure that ceiling is through a Chapter 11 process.

– We can be sure that employees and advisers who help the company with its activities in this process can continue to be on board the company, says Daniel Shamah, who is the legal representative for FOA.

Previously, it has emerged that 162 creditors at a court in Austria, where Fisker Inc. hired out for the production of its cars, has raised a claim of DKK 6.7 billion against the car brand. However, Henrik Fisker and the rest of the management will only recognize a fraction of the amount. Read more about it here.
