Tesla lays off employees for the 4th week in a row – more on the way?

Tesla wants to get rid of more than 10 percent of its employees, including those who sleep in the cars to attend to work. Now more layoffs may be on the way.

Tesla is going on a serious diet. In fact, it has already begun.

It is now the fourth week in a row that Tesla has told scores of employees that they no longer have a job. Among other things. A number of employees were fired on Sunday evening last week.

One of those fired is Cheryl Cai, whom Tesla otherwise brought in from Apple to work on user friendliness. She says so herself on her LinkedIn profile .

– After watching my department shrink gradually since mid-April, I myself received the dreaded 'hello employee' email on Sunday afternoon.

– Now I have become another in the statistics of mass layoffs, writes Cheryl Cai.

After telling the outside world about the mass layoffs, Tesla director Elon Musk emphasized that they were looking for jobs, of which there were/are more.

But since then, entire departments have become empty of employees. Among other things, the entire Supercharger department, as well as the PR people, have been fired.

Conversely, Tesla is far from the only car brand that is firing at the moment. At Fisker Inc., which was founded by Danish Henrik Fisker, the situation is now so bad that all remaining employees have been notified of layoffs. Read more about it here .

Back at Tesla, it doesn't matter so much that the employees sleep in their cars to be able to work overtime. This is according to one of the employees who, like Cheryl Cai, has recently been fired. Read more about it here .
