The Stellantis group, which includes brands such as Opel, Citroen, Jeep and Alfa Romeo, will build even more hybrid cars. 30 models are already ready.
Before the end of 2024, the Stellantis Group, which includes Opel, Citroen, Jeep, Chrysler and Alfa Romeo, will have 30 hybrid cars in operation.
The group writes this in a press release .
It is especially the demand for hybrid cars in Europe that is driving this development. This year alone, Stellantis has sold 41 percent more hybrid cars when compared to the same period last year.
Stellantis expects that sales of the hybrid cars will only increase further across the group's 14 car brands. The group states that more than 70 percent of its European factories are already building hybrid cars.

And in fact, the hybrid cars are doing so well that at least for one car brand – namely Fiat – they are overtaking the electric cars. The Italians cannot really get the sales of the electric Fiat 500e going.
For the same reason, Stellantis has decided to rebuild the assembly line so that from 2026 it can also build hybrid versions of the car. Read more about it here .
However, the hybrids are not the only thing that Stellantis is betting on. The group is also trying something more risky with the hybrid cars. Especially in vans. Production is to start already this year.
Back to the electric cars, on the other hand, Stellantis has threatened to withdraw completely from England if the British government does not throw money at the development of the car type. Read more about it here .
