Rules affecting all cars in Denmark are now being postponed

The rules in the Danish viewing halls must be tightened. But it cannot be done before the deadline of 1 April, says the Swedish Transport Agency.

Actually, from 1 April this year, all Danish visionaries should have had a side job as photographers. From that date, it should have been a requirement to have photo documentation of all sightings in Denmark.

It is all due to a political agreement from last year. An agreement that came about because a majority in Christiansborg wanted to end the so-called 'text inspection', where cars were approved for high fees by inspectors without being in the inspection halls.

But now it won't come to anything. At least not until the set deadline of 1 April 2024. That's what the Norwegian Transport Agency writes in a press release .

Instead, it is now said that, due to concerns from the industry, the agency is postponing the decision, which, among other things, makes photo documentation of car inspections an indispensable requirement.

Specifically, the requirements for car inspections in Denmark are being postponed because there are problems with the implementation of a new so-called 'vision app', which the inspectors must make use of.

The fact that the new rules are postponed also means that the stricter punishment and sanction options against the inspection companies are put on hold.

The Swedish Transport Agency expects that the new requirements for car inspections in Denmark will come into force before the end of 2024. But that is not a guarantee.

However, the new rules in the field of vision are only some of the strictures that are being imposed on Danish drivers this year. Read more about the rest here .
