Parking attendants broke the law to issue parking fees

Juan De la Hoz was given a parking ticket, even though there was never a parking attendant or any yellow ticket near the car.

Juan De la Hoz received a parking fee when he unloaded some goods at a nursing home Sundbyberg in the northern Stockholm area. But the tax is illegal.

Carup writes that.

For a parking charge to be valid, there must be a small yellow note in the windscreen. It wasn't there when Juan De la Hoz got back to the car. The colleague, who had kept an eye on the car in the meantime, hadn't seen any parking attendant either.

Still, Juan De la Hoz got a parking fee. So he complained about that, and then the parking company otherwise began to reveal its illegal methods.

Pictures were returned of De la Hoz's white Toyota ProAce, which the parking attendant has only seen from his own car.

At Svea Bank, which owns Hojab Parkeringsservice, where the parking tax allegedly comes from, they do not wish to comment on the matter. But points out that Juan De la Hoz can complain. Which he has already done.

– It says that if I don't pay, they can take me to court, he says to Carup.

At Svepark, the parking industry's cooperation organization, which is the interest organization of the parking industry in Sweden, it is confirmed that such parking charges are not legally valid.

All in all, it can be difficult for parking attendants to figure out their job. There are also examples of this at home. Last year, for example, a parking company would only 'regret' that they had 'come to' charge parking fees in an area where the parking attendants were not allowed to be at all.
