Norwegian police take the choir card from a Dane on summer tires

A Danish man has been disqualified from the right of way in Norway after he drove wrongly on summer tires at the weekend.

A Danish man is no longer allowed to drive a car in Norway.

The Norwegian police have taken his license in the country because he was driving around in his car with Danish license plates. The accident happened on Motorway E6 in the town of Sarpsborg – an hour's drive from the capital Oslo.

This is written by VG on the basis of a post by the Norwegian police on the social media "X" – the former Twitter.

The man has also been told that the car is not allowed to be used in Norway, i.e. drive on until it is fitted with winter tyres.

It does not appear from the Norwegian police's information how the man relates to the fact that he has lost the right of way in Norway. Or how he may have moved on from the motorway.

It is not uncommon for Nordic citizens to lose their choir card across the Nordic countries. A well-known example dates from October 2021.

Here, a Norwegian citizen lost his driver's license when he was stopped on the Hirtshals motorway for speeding in a brand new Lamborghini. Read more about it here .
