Nissan is now demanding that something happen immediately in England, where the government will gradually introduce a ban on new fossil-fuel cars from this year
It will cost thousands of jobs and result in 'terrible' stalls if the government in England does not adjust an upcoming ban on fossil-fuel cars.
Specifically, the government in England wants to ban all new cars with combustion engines from 2030 with the so-called ZEV – zero emission vehicle mandate.
But now Nissan strikes again. The brand simply fears that it will cost thousands of Britons their jobs and damage the country's car industry if the law continues as it is screwed up now.
That's what Car Dealer Magazine writes.
Nissan, which at least within the borders of the EU will only sell electric cars in 2030, says that adaptations to the English law are necessary before then.

– The law risks undermining business for car manufacturers in England. Thus, thousands of jobs and billions of pounds are at stake, says Guillaume Cartier who, among other things, is head of Nissan in Europe.
As the law is now screwed up, by 1 January 2025 every car brand in England must be able to prove that 22 per cent of their total sales were purely electric cars by 2024.
Nissan's announcement comes just hours after Ford of England announced that the brand is laying off around 800 employees in England. Here, too, there is concern that the law against new fossil-fuel cars will mean further redundancies.
The British government says that 'they are aware of the global challenges' and 'that they are working closely with the industry to ensure a transition to electric cars in 2030.'
Nissan itself is struggling at the moment. The brand's top director has already said no to 50 percent of his salary. At the same time, however, he announced that Nissan will lay off a total of 9,000 employees globally. Read more about it here .
