New Volkswagen ID.3 soon ready: Here is the price

Volkswagen has just published the prices of the upcoming new ID.3. Read more in the article here.

Volkswagen has a clear goal of making electric mobility accessible to a wide target group and is therefore working to offer a wide selection of fully electric models.

The latest step in this direction is the introduction of the new ID.3 Pure – a new entry-level model that is now available at prices from just DKK 259,995.

The new ID.3 Pure marks a comeback in Volkswagen's model range. Since it was last available, the model has undergone a significant technical upgrade resulting in both longer range and increased engine power.

The previous 45 kWh battery has now been upgraded to a 52 kWh battery, which has improved the range from 347 km to 388 km (WLTP). At the same time, the charging speed has increased from 110 kW to 145 kW, which means that the battery can be quickly charged from 10 to 80% in just 25 minutes under optimal conditions.

Another significant upgrade is the increased engine power. The new electric motor now produces 170 hp compared to the previous 150 hp, allowing the ID.3 Pure to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h.

Although many technical improvements have been made, the ID.3 Pure retains many of the familiar qualities of the compact ID.3 series. The model is based on the MEB platform, where the high-voltage battery is located under the floor between the front and rear axles, and the electric motor is integrated into the rear axle. This design ensures a spacious interior in the 426 cm long car, where there is room for up to five people and a luggage compartment with a capacity of 385 litres.

The ID.3 Pure also comes with the new software 4.0 from Volkswagen. This software includes functions such as pre-heating the high-voltage battery to ensure maximum charging power during lightning charging.

The pre-heating can be activated manually or automatically when selecting a route in the new infotainment system, which has a 12.9" touchscreen with clear graphics, intuitive menu structure and a configurable user interface. In addition, assistant systems such as LED headlights with Light Assist, adaptive cruise control with Stop-and-Go function and lane assist increase comfort and safety.

Volkswagen has also ensured that the ID.3 Pure retains the good handling characteristics that the series is known for. The car's low center of gravity contributes to a balanced experience between comfort and dynamics. With a turning radius of only 10.2 metres, equivalent to a small up!, the car is extremely manoeuvrable.

With the new Pure version, the ID.3 model range is expanded to include an economical entry-level model that complements the other variants such as the ID.3 Style (58 kWh/433 km WLTP) and the ID.3 Max (79 kWh/556 km WLTP) . Later in the year, the program will be completed with the sporty ID.3 GTX.
