New tires are now being made again for the 22-year-old Ferrari

Ferrari Enzo – or should we be correct, Enzo Ferrari – can now get tires again. Pirelli restarts production of an updated original tire.

Tires are just as important as other spare parts for the car. But over time they become harder to obtain. Now, however, Pirelli comes to Ferrari's rescue.

The Italians want to restart production of tires for the Enzo supercar, which was withdrawn from the program in 2004 after 498 copies.

However, the top model's short life in the model range does not mean that it has been hidden away. The owners are still using their copies. And with 660 horsepower directly at the rear wheels from a 6-litre V12 engine, there is a lot of tire use on that account.

So now there are new ones on the way. Also in original sizes 245/35-19 front and 345/35-19 rear. The scary thing is that it is a relatively small assembly today.

The current top model, the SF90, which otherwise has over 1,000 horsepower, is equipped with a mounting called 255/35-20 at the front and 315/30-20 at the rear axle.

The thing about new parts for old cars is big business. For example, Nissan wants to rebuild your old Skyline GT-R at the factory in Japan, and BMW still sells brand new parts for a 34-year-old 3 Series.

And then there are Saab owners. Even if they drive around in cars where the brand behind has long gone upside down and home, there is still life. Read more about it here.
