New Mazda comes to Denmark with 100-inch screen

The Mazda EZ-60, which is called the CX-5e in Europe, is actually a Chinese Changan Deepal S07. The car comes to Denmark with a 100" screen for the head-up display.

Mazda has unveiled its new electric SUV, the Mazda EZ-60. The car is aimed at competitors like the Tesla Model Y. It is Mazda's next big move into the global electric car market.

New information confirms more details about the upcoming model. It will also be offered as a range extender variant, expanding the model's appeal to more buyers.

The EZ-60 measures 4,850 mm in length. The width is 1,935 mm, and the height is 1,620 mm. The wheelbase extends over 2,902 mm.

In comparison, the Tesla Model Y is slightly smaller. It measures 4,790 mm in length and 1,920 mm in width. The height is 1,624 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,890 mm.

The Mazda EZ-60 is a relatively large electric SUV that fits into a popular and competitive segment of the market.

Mazda EZ-60 – design and features

The design takes inspiration from the Arata concept shown last year. The car is clearly recognizable as a Mazda. However, it has a more characterful expression than the brand's current SUVs.

The front carries the brand's signature grille shape. However, it is adapted for an electric car. There is no traditional radiator grille for air intake for an engine.

Instead, slim LED daytime running lights are seen. An LED strip runs under the false grille, giving the front a modern look.

The Mazda logo on the front can also be illuminated, adding an extra visual effect to the car's design, especially in the dark.

Mazda has had limited success with previous electric cars. The MX-30 model failed to meet expectations in several markets.

Market position and versions of EZ-60/CX-6e

The MX-30 had a relatively high price tag. It also had a frustratingly short range for many. This made it a disappointing failure commercially.

There is therefore a lot of pressure on the new EZ-60. It is intended to establish Mazda in the growing market for electric cars. Many car manufacturers are launching new electric cars in the coming years.

Outside of China, the model will have a different name. In Europe, it is expected to be called the CX-6e. However, the mission is the same: to sell electric cars globally.

At the same time, Mazda continues to produce powerful models with combustion engines. The brand even set a sales record in the United States last year.

In comparison, the Danish importer, with currently 3,000 new registrations in all of 2024, could only just stay in the top 20 of the most popular car brands in Denmark.

The EZ-60 also matches the Zeekr 7X in size, another promising new electric car from China. The Zeekr 7X is also expected to hit global markets soon.

The new Mazda EZ-60 / CX-6e will be an important car for the brand. It will compete in a field with many strong players, including Tesla and new Chinese brands. It will be exciting to follow the launch and reception of the car.

While Mazda is launching a car with a 100-inch HUD – head-up display – many of the competitors are gradually moving in the opposite direction.

Hyundai recently vowed that physical buttons are making a comeback in new cars. The Volkswagen Group and Lucid Motors are also saying the same. Read more about it here .
