Kia has today presented all the details of the new Kia EV3, a compact electric SUV that combines advanced technology, innovative design and ground-breaking features.

Based on the technology and values from Kia's larger EV9 model, the EV3 has created its own identity. The model offers a unique and engaging experience that will hopefully improve the perception of electric SUVs.

The Kia EV3 delivers a WLTP range of up to 600km and fast charging, addressing concerns about EV range. Ho Sung Song, president and CEO of Kia, states: "With its cutting-edge design, industry-leading electric powertrain and practical, innovative lifestyle solutions, the EV3 aims to extend Kia's unique electric SUV experience to a wider audience."

The interior design of the EV3 offers a spacious cabin with room for five people. The cabin is functional and efficient, designed to provide comfort during both cruising and charging. An elegant center console with a sliding table and storage space for drinks and personal belongings provides extra functionality.

The EV3 is the first model in the compact SUV segment to offer Kia's new i-Pedal 3.0 regenerative braking system. This system maximizes energy efficiency and reduces fatigue on long trips by enabling one-pedal cruising. In addition, the EV3 is equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging, which makes it possible to power external devices such as laptops and coffee machines.

Safety and assistance functions include advanced systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Highway Driving Assist that increase safety and comfort during traffic. The EV3's 12” Head-up Display (HUD) minimizes driver distraction by projecting information onto the windscreen.

Kia's 'Opposites United' design philosophy has played a central role in the development of the EV3's bold and dynamic design. Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, describes the EV3 as a perfect encapsulation of the design philosophy: "Although compact, the inspiring exterior houses an open interior that promotes comfort on the move."

The exterior of the EV3 exudes strength with vertical headlights that create a broad and confident stance. The dynamic body design and spacious interior create an inviting environment. The EV3 GT-line model reinforces the dynamic design with a sporty and refined look.

The EV3 measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. The advanced front-wheel drive electric powertrain based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) uses Kia's fourth-generation battery technology. The model is available in two variants: EV3 Standard with a 58.3 kWh battery and EV3 Long Range with an 81.4 kWh battery.

Spencer Cho, Vice President and Head of Global Business Planning, states: “The Kia EV3 is designed and engineered to meet the needs of customers who want a car that matches their forward-looking values without compromising their everyday practicality. With the EV3, Kia has redefined the EV SUV segment to create a compact model that is comprehensively equipped with innovative technology and features.”

The EV3 will launch in Korea in July 2024, followed by a European launch later this year. Kia then plans to expand sales of the EV3 to other regions. See more at www.kia.com/dk/
