New electric Mercedes G-class: How expensive it will be!

If you are in the market for a G-Class with an electric motor, you should probably check with your banker in advance. Because despite a lower tax on electric cars in Denmark, the G 580 still costs a fortune!

Mercedes-Benz recently presented its latest electric car, the G 580 with EQ Technology, which combines the classic G-Class' robust design with cutting-edge technology. The new model offers exceptional electrical properties, especially when it comes to off-road driving.

For the first time, this electric G-Class is launched in Denmark as Edition One with a starting price of DKK 2,186,271 for the G 580 with EQ Technology Edition One.

Edition One comes, as the name suggests, with an impressive selection of equipment that makes the car extra attractive. On the outside, the car has the AMG Night package, which adds a sporty and raw look with dark details.

This also includes blue brake calipers to match the side skirts and the 20" AMG light-alloy wheels in an elegant 10-spoke design. The angular appearance reinforces the car's iconic status and makes it easily recognizable on the roads.

The interior is made of luxurious nappa leather with blue contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard and steering wheel, which gives the interior a coherent and elegant look. The Edition One edition also includes the comfort package, which ensures a comfortable choir experience. In addition, the car comes with the impressive G-ROAR sound system, which provides a first-class sound experience for both drivers and passengers.

Under the hood, you will find a powerful electric powertrain with four electric motors that together deliver 580 horsepower and a torque of 1,164 Nm. This powerful setup allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h. The battery's capacity allows a range of up to 460 km according to the WLTP, and it can be charged quickly with 200 kW DC or 11 kW AC.

Terrain is where the G-Class really shines, and the new G 580 with EQ Technology is no exception. With an impressive climbing ability of up to 45° and the ability to handle side slopes of 35°, the car is built to handle the most challenging road conditions.

The wading depth has increased by 15 cm compared to previous models with a combustion engine, which gives a total depth of 85 cm. In addition, the ground clearance is 25 cm, which gives extra versatility in off-road situations.

So far, the G 580 with EQ Technology will only be launched as Edition One, but Mercedes-Benz plans to expand with more variants in the near future.

With this new model, Mercedes-Benz is ready to take on the electric off-road coach market, and the G 580 with EQ Technology promises to deliver impressive performance and luxury for those who want a car with both history and modern technology.
