Motorists who make dents are less angry, research shows

Motorists who have dented their cars themselves over the past year are less angry and irritated in traffic, new research shows.

Motorists who have done the dents in their cars themselves over the past few years are less upset. At least they don't get upset as much when others forget to blink, obey the right-of-way or keep their distance.

This is shown by a survey carried out by the research firm Ipsos for Gjensidige. 3,600 motorists answered the questions in the survey.

Perhaps it is the case that those who do not get irritated have irritating behavior themselves, and perhaps without being aware of it, says Bjarne Aani Rysstad, communications manager at Gjensidige in Norway, about the result.

45 percent of those who have had a dent in their car in the past year get angry when other drivers 'forget' to blink. For those who have not had dents in their cars, the figure is 65 percent.

At Gjensidige, however, people are generally concerned about the development. Because the figures also show that motorists make far more dents than before.

– We are concerned about the development, which over several years has shown that motorists make more dents in their cars, says Bjarne Aani Rysstad.

Another survey, which the insurance company has carried out in Denmark, shows that motorists still have a hard time with speed.

Over 30,000 times in the course of 2023, the police could thus hand out speeding tickets to motorists on very specific roads in this country. And even though there are actually fewer stalls than the year before, it is still a high number, according to the insurance experts. Read more about it here .
