Furious Tesla owner sentenced for threatening 6-year-old boy

A furious Tesla owner in his 40s has been convicted of threatening a 6-year-old boy after a rock flew over and hit the car's tire.

A Tesla owner has been convicted of threatening a six-year-old boy after an incident where the boy and one of his friends were playing outside a school.

This is what the Hallandsposten newspaper writes.

The Tesla owner, a man in his 40s, has become a target for threats. The incident took place in November 2023, when two boys were playing outside a school and threw ice and pebbles into the street.

One of the rocks reportedly hit the tire of a passing Tesla, causing the driver to stop the car.

The man got out of the car and the boys ran away. The six-year-old boy, however, felt the man's anger.

The boy later said that the man grabbed him by the neck and said he would come back to beat him the next day. After the incident, the boy became scared.

Today, the boy is still scarred by the encounter with the angry man. The boy's mother says he feels uneasy and uncomfortable when he sees a Tesla in the same color.

School staff watched as the man, who was very agitated, attempted to enter the school to look for the boys.

According to witnesses, the Tesla owner shouted loudly while making signs that clearly indicated he wanted to strangle the boy. The man also made verbal threats, witnesses say.

The staff at the boys' school had to physically intervene to prevent him from reaching the children.

The Tesla owner, who denies any wrongdoing, explains that he thought the boys were throwing rocks directly at his car.

He contacted a teacher at the school to tell them about the incident. But he didn't think the staff would listen to him, which made him angry. He claims his anger was directed at the school, not the boy.

However, the court found that both the boy's and the staff's testimonies were credible. The man was now sentenced to 70 daily fines of 220 kroner, a total of 15,400 Swedish kroner, for threats. He must also pay 8,000 kroner in compensation to the 6-year-old boy.

The case is reminiscent of something that happened in Denmark last January. Here, a driver hit and kicked a 10-year-old boy who he thought was throwing stones at him. Read more about it here .
