Fisker revoked all car days bankruptcy protection

In a final attempt to save the business, Fisker has sought bankruptcy protection in the United States. The day before, all cars were recalled.

Fishermen have big problems. And it's not just from an economic point of view. The car brand, which cannot pay its bills and has to pay back large loans, also has several headaches out on the roads.

Just a few days before Danish Henrik Fisker threw in the towel and sought shelter from his creditors, he recalled all cars, Fisker Inc. ever built.

That's what Car and Driver writes.

How many cars are involved is still in doubt. Fisker Inc. has previously said that a good 10,000 cars have been produced at the Magna Steyr factory in Austria.

But now there are indications that there are in fact more than 18,000 cars. Which also means that the car brand has an even larger stock of cars from last year's production that have not yet been sold. Read more about it here.

The latest recall is due to two errors. One – which 11,201 cars may be affected by – concerns a lack of engine power. This is due to a fault in the electric motors. Read more about it here .

Even Fisker Inc. didn't really want to say anything about the bankruptcy protection. Something that the startup company Lordstown Motors was also looking for before the car brand shut down completely.

There has, however, been a press release from Fisker Inc., in which Henrik Fisker makes it clear that filing for bankruptcy was the only real option.

– After evaluating all options for our company, we decided that proceeding with a sale of our assets under bankruptcy protection is the most viable way forward for the company, it reads.

For the car brand, whose future looks somewhat bleak, recalls are nothing new. There have been plenty of problems, and indeed some that Boosted reader Jesper can recognise. Read more about it here .
